Data Retention Policy

Last updated: September 2026

1. Overview

This Data Retention Policy explains how long Bennett Search retains personal information collected through this website, how that information is deleted, and how you can request early deletion. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.

2. Candidate Profiles

Candidate profiles, resumes, and supporting materials are retained for a maximum of 36 months from the date of submission, or for the duration of any active search engagement to which you are relevant, whichever is longer. After this period, your profile is permanently removed from our active database unless you request an extension in writing.

3. Firm Enquiries

Search enquiries and related communications submitted by hiring firms are retained for 60 months from the date of the enquiry, or for the term of any resulting engagement plus a 12-month period, whichever is longer. This reflects the longer operational and legal relevance of client records.

4. Data Request Records

Records of privacy and data subject requests (including the request, our response, and confirmation of any action taken) are retained for 36 months to demonstrate compliance with applicable data protection laws. The personal data subject to the request itself is handled according to the retention periods above or deleted sooner where requested.

5. Deletion Process

When information reaches the end of its retention period, or when you request deletion, we remove it from our active systems within 30 days. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently purged. Linked resumes and uploaded files are deleted from our storage provider on the same schedule.

6. Early Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your information at any time before the retention period expires. To do so, submit a request through our Data Request page or email us with "Deletion Request" in the subject line. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm once your data has been removed.

7. Legal Hold

Where we are legally required to retain information (for example, to comply with legal obligations, defend against claims, or enforce our agreements), we may retain the relevant data for the duration of that obligation notwithstanding the periods set out above.

8. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Data Retention Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact
